If you are teaching young children Excel 2007, it is a good idea to make the learning as colorful as possible. This means that you can change the color of the gridlines from the usual boring black to something bold and bright! By default the gridlines are set to a very light shade of gray, which makes them invisible during printing. Read on to find out how you can make the change possible. It is very simple, just follows the steps listed below.

  • Go to Excel, and click ‘Office’ .
  • The ‘Excel Options’ dialog box is displayed.
  • Click on ‘Advanced’ option.
  • Scroll down to ‘Display options for this worksheet:’ section.
  • Check on ‘Show Gridlines’.
  • Locate the ‘Gridline Color’ dropdown color list
  • Select a color, this changes the gridline color of the selected sheet

You also have an option to change the line color of parts of your sheet. A line however is different from a gridline in Excel. A gridline in Excel is a transparent table border, which is not visible on print. Whereas a line, is a solid border, visible on print.
