Folder options not available

Open the Group Policy Editor by typing in gpedit.msc in the Run dialog box. Navigate to the following location User Configuration\Administrative Templates\ Windows Components\Windows Explorer
On the right side, set the “Remove the Folder Options menu item” from the Tools menu to “Not Configured”, by double-clicking
it and setting the appropriate option. If you are using Windows XP Home, you will not be able to run the Group Policy Editor, and
you will need to use the Registry Editor method, as follows.
Open the Registry Editor. Browse to the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ Explorer
Find the NoFolderOptions key and change the value to 0, assuming you have this key. If you don’t, just create it. Restart your computer.

To enable CD Autoplay feature.

Open the Group Policy Editor by typing in gpedit.msc in the Run dialog box. Go to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System and double on Turn Autoplay off in the right pane. The default is “Not configured”. Set it to Disabled. This only works with Windows XP Professional.
If you have XP Home Edition, open the Registry Editor and navigate toHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\CDRom. Double-click the DWORD “AutoRun” in the right pane and set its value to 1. Close the Registry Editor and restart your computer

Hide The Floppy Drive

You no longer use a floppy drive these days, so there’s no reason for it to be displayed in My Computer. Open the Registry Editor and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Policies\Explorer If this key does not exist, create it. The modify or create a 32-bit DWORD

To improve startup in Windows XP

1) Click on 'Start' ---> 'Run'

2) Type 'msconfig'

3) In the System Configuration Utility select 'Selective Startup'

4) Now click on the startup tab and deselect all the items from the list which you don't want the computer to run on start up.

5) Click on Apply and then restart your computer.

Note: It may take some time to identify which items to check and which to uncheck. Some items will be easy to identify (e.g., Microsoft Office), some may be slightly confusing (e.g., realsched), and some will be hopelessly cryptic (e.g., 000StTHK or QFSSCHD110). If you cannot determine what an entry is (and therefore whether you should uncheck it or not), you may want to use a search engine to research the individual entry. Keep in mind there are some entries that you should avoid unchecking (e.g., virus scanners).

How to automatically login in Windows XP

1) Make sure there is only one user account on the computer

a) This can be found out by going to the control panel and clicking on User Accounts.

Note: Deleting user accounts will delete the user profile and DATA from the computer permanently.

2) Welcome screen should be enabled

a) Again double click on User Accounts and click on 'change the way the users log on or off'

b) Make sure the 'Use the welcome screen' is selected

3) Remove password from a user account

a) In user accounts click the only user account that exists.

b) Click on 'Remove my Password'

c) Type the password in 'Type your current password' textbox and then click on 'Remove Password'

How to Remove Content Advisor Password in Internet Explorer

The following steps will remove any password set in the Internet Explorer Content Advisor and allow you to reset the program to its original state.

1) Click on Start and choose Run.
2) Type in RegEdit and select OK.
3) Now click on the little plus sign to the left of H_KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
4) Continue to drill down, always clicking on the plus sign at the left of the named key, through Software, Microsoft, Windows, Current Version and Policies.
5) Now click on the Ratings folder.

6) In the right pane of the RegEdit window, you'll see an icon called Key. Click on it and press Delete.
7) Next, choose Registry and then Exit to exit RegEdit. You've just deleted your original Content Advisor password.
8) Restart the computer and run Internet Explorer again.
9) Choose View and then Internet Options (or Options for version 3.x). For IE 5 or greater, Click on Tools, Internet Options.
10) Click on the Content tab and click on Disable. When asked for a password, don't enter anything; just click on OK. This will disable Content Advisor because there's no longer a password.

How to Fix Problems with Content Advisor Missing Information

In most cases, this problem occurs when the Ratings.pol file is damaged, follow the instructions below to fix this issue.

1) Quit Internet Explorer

2) Open My Computer, click on Tools, Folder Options

3) Click on the View tab and make sure "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, you may also want to uncheck the box next to "Hide extensions for known file types" and click Ok

4) Double click on Drive C in My Computer

5) Double click on the Windows folder and then double click on the System folder

6) Search for the file RATINGS.POL and right click on it and choose Rename. Rename it to RATINGS.OLD

Adobe Photoshop - the essential software for perfecting your images, Adobe® Photoshop® CS3 now offers productivity and workflow enhancements, powerful new editing tools, and breakthrough compositing capabilities.
Adobe® Photoshop® CS3 software accelerates your path from imagination to imagery. Ideal for photographers, graphic designers, and web designers, the professional standard delivers new features such as automatic layer alignment and blending that enable advanced compositing. Live filters boost the comprehensive, nondestructive editing toolset for increased flexibility. And a streamlined interface and new timesaving tools make your work flow faster.

Features:

Nondestructive editing
Edit nondestructively with new Smart Filters, which let you visualize different image effects, and Smart Objects, which let you scale, rotate, and warp raster and vector graphics all without altering the original pixel data.
Rich painting and drawing toolset
Create or modify images with a wide assortment of professional, fully customizable paint settings, artistic brushes, and drawing tools.
Advanced compositing
Create more accurate composites by automatically aligning multiple Adobe® Photoshop® layers or images based on similar content. The Auto-align Layers command quickly analyzes details and moves, rotates, or warps layers to align them perfectly, and the Auto-blend Layers command blends the color and shading to create a smooth, editable result.
3D compositing and texture editing
Easily render and incorporate rich 3D content into your 2D composites — even edit existing textures on 3D models directly within Photoshop Extended and immediately see the results. Photoshop Extended supports common 3D interchange formats, including 3DS, OBJ, U3D, KMZ, and COLLADA, so you can import, view, and interact with most 3D models.
Movie Paint
Enhance video directly within Photoshop Extended. Now you can paint, add text, and clone over multiple frames of an imported video sequence.
2D and 3D measurement tools
Extract quantitative information from images with new measurement tools. Easily calibrate or set the scale of an image, and then use any of the Photoshop Extended selection tools to define and calculate distance, perimeter, area, and other measurements. Record data points in a measurement log and export data, including histogram data, to a spreadsheet for further analysis.
Faster, more flexible asset management with Adobe Bridge CS3
Organize and manage images more efficiently with next-generation Adobe Bridge CS3 software, which now delivers improved performance, a Filter panel for easier searching, the ability to group multiple images under a single thumbnail, the Loupe tool, offline image browsing, and more.
Better raw-image processing
Process raw images with increased speed and superior conversion quality using the Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in, which now adds support for JPEG and TIFF formats; new tools including Fill Light and Dust Busting; compatibility with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom software; and support for over 150 camera models.
Enhanced Vanishing Point with 3D support
Edit in perspective on multiple surfaces — even those connected at angles other than 90 degrees — with the enhanced Vanishing Point, which also lets you measure in perspective; wrap graphics, images, and text around multiple planes; and output 2D planes as 3D models.
Wide range of supported formats
Import and export an even greater range of file formats, including PSD, BMP, DICOM, Cineon, JPEG, JPEG2000, OpenEXR, PNG, Targa, and TIFF.

Here is a cool technique which hides entire hard disk drive partitions by a simple procedure without using Regedit

1.Go to Start> Run and type diskpart

A DOS window will appear with following description

DISKPART>

2.Then type list volume

3.Suppose you want to hide drive E:, type select volume 3.A message will now appear in the window saying "Volume 3 is selected volume"

4.Now type remove letter E .You may have to reboot the Computer.Diskpart will remove the letter. To access the contents of the hidden drive ,repear the process, but in the fourth  step, replace remove to assign

2qwk8kg Diskpart

Here is another method with Tweak UI

2qwk8kg Tweak UI

Go to Start/Run and type in "tweakui" (without the quotes).

Go to My Computer/Drives and uncheck the drive/partition(s) you want hidden. Click "Apply" or "OK" when finished.

Once hidden, you can still access by typing the drive letter and a colon in Start/Run—for example, "D:" will bring up a folder of the contents on your D drive.

Registry edit Method

Open the Registry Editor by going to Start/Run and typing in "regedit" (without the quotes). Go to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies

Click on "Explorer".

Double-click the "NoDrives" key in the right column. If you don't find a "NoDrives" registry key, just right-click in the right pane and choose "New/DWORD Value" then name the key "NoDrives".

You'll see a value like "0000 00 00 00 00". This is where the fun starts. The four sets of double zeros (after the "0000") are where you'll enter the values for the drive/partitions. Now, stay with me on this—it's not as complicated as it sounds:

The first column is for drives A-H, the second for I-P, the third for Q-X, and the fourth for Y-Z.

The values for each drive are as follows:

1 - A I Q Y
2 - B J R Z
4 - C K S
8 - D L T
16 - E M U
32 - F N V
64 - G O W
80 - H P X

So, let's say you want to hide drive D. In the first column you would put "08". For drive K you would put "04" in the second column.

But what if you want to hide more than one drive in a column:- Simply add the values together: D+E = 8+16 = 24. So in the first column you would put "24".

The value number for the each drive is:
1 for A I Q Y, 2 for B J R Z, 4 for K C S, 8 for D L T, 16 for E M U, 32 for F N V, 64 for G O V and 80 for H P X.

Web2Mail.com and Mail2Web.com are 2 great services which allow you to:

  • Subscribe to your favourite web pages, and receive email updates of the whole page - Web2Mail.com
  • Access your POP or IMAP email account to read and send emails via a webmail interface - Mail2Web.com

Web2Mail is a free service that allows you to subscribe to your favourite web pages, and receive email updates of the whole page.

  • A way to read and send POP email on the web
  • A new email address - username@web2mail.com
  • Email subscriptons to your favorite web pages
  • A way to browse and search the web by email

It’s especially useful for people who aren’t allowed email access at work because you can use Web2mail to subscribe to pages like the weather forecast for your city, the TV guide or front page of a newspaper website and get them delivered to your email inbox as attachments.

Web2Mail gives you control over the web. Subscribe to web pages to have them delivered to your inbox according to your own schedule. You may choose the delivery time and frequency - daily, weekly, or on a particular day of the month. It only sends you web pages if they have changed since the last time you read them.

For example the interest rates page at your banks website and set it to check weekly. This way you can be one of the first people to know when your banks raises or lowers its interest rates.

By default Web2Mail delivers web pages as HTML without including any web page images. This is much faster than including images, but you may choose to have images included if you wish. Also you can specify to include or exclude words from the text of the page. This way, you only receive web pages that include content that interests you, and exclude content that doesn’t.

If you wish to suspend any web page delivery schedule, just click “Edit”, then check the “Suspend deliveries” option. If you wish to suspend all your your subscriptions, click “Change my details” then check the “Suspend all deliveries” option. This is very useful when you go on vacation.

Use the Web2Mail Lite folders to arrange your web page subscriptions by topic eg: Business, Sports etc just like you use your Favourites folders in your web browser. You’ll find Web2Mail Lite folders more convenient because you can use them from any PC, anywhere in the world.

Mail2Web

This service is great if your email account doesn’t allow webmail, the webmail server isn’t working or you’re at someone else’s computer where you can’t use a proper email program like Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird.

Mail2Web allows you to check your email from any computer anywhere in the world and is used by millions of users around the world.

All you need to remember is your:

Username: eg: spark
Password: eg: 123456789
Mail server: eg: mail.sparky.com

It can be used to check most email addresses, however, some email servers do not allow remote access. In those cases you may get an error telling you ‘login failed’. Also, services like Hotmail use proprietary mail protocols that are not supported by mail2web.com

From any computer, anywhere in the world. No need to register!
