Social network Twitter has launched a video service called Vine which is a free app for iOS devices that allows users to shoot and post short videos on their feed.
The official Vine blog has further explanation of this concept: "Like Tweets, the brevity of videos on Vine (6 seconds or less) inspires creativity. Now that you can easily capture motion and sound, we look forward to seeing what you create." the company said in their post."We’re working now to bring it to other platforms, so stay tuned for that," the company added.
The network has supported embedded YouTube videos since 2009, but for the first time, Twitter itself will host video content with Vine.
Facebook has blocked Twitter’s new Vine app from being able to find your Facebook friends on the service.
