Facebook Unveils 'Mobile First', Picture-Friendly "News Feed"
Facebook revealed its new "newsfeed " with a new look and feel.it has 3 major components:
1)Bigger Images
2)Multiple Feeds
3)Mobile Consistency
At present newsfeed is wider, brighter, and more visually richer. It's full of news. It's full of sections. It's like, according to Zuck, "a newspaper."Facebook users now have access to more types of feeds and have more control .You can now subscribe to different types of feeds, including feeds from all friends, close friends, music, photos, games and those who a user "follows.".
A new Navigation tray at the left side of the screen offers icons that link to everything people do on Facebook, from apps to messaging to groups to photos. The familiar ticker at the right side of the screen is gone. The images and text are now bigger , and the sources of the content are more clearly marked.
The main change in the design is MusicFeed. You can choose the feed from a drop-down list at the top right of the page.In the Following feed, you can find the content from the pages of publications or public figures you like.
In the 'Photos feed' photos and the text around them appear larger. The text in the comments boxes below the photos appears to be a little bit bigger than before. While more users are accessing Facebook from mobile than ever, Facebook is more focused on it by adding a new side navigation bar and more white space.
The last major update to the feature occurred in September 2011.The new changes to "News Feed" are meant to make Facebook a more fun place to hang out and avoid turning into an Internet has-been like other once trendy social networks such as Friendster and MySpace.
It begins rolling out today. How to get the new Facebook news feed? Visit here Then, click the big green "Join Waiting List" button at the bottom of the page. Done. Next step? Wait...
