How to Delete Individual Items From Internet Explorer Address Bar

Before making changes to your registry you should always make sure you have a valid backup.

1. Start Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
2. Locate the following key in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs

3. Delete all the URLx (e.g. URL1, URL2 and so on) that you do not wish to be visible in the address bar drop down list.
Note: If you delete only certain keys, make sure that the remaining keys are in renamed in sequential order start from url1. Otherwise you might corrupt your remaining keys.

4. Close the registry editor.

This feature is useful if the user want to maintain a few set of “Typed URLs” which can be restored and display on IE’s Address Bar drop down list with just a click of button. Beside, users can also use the tool to sort the URLs, and move up or move down the specific typed url to manually arrange the sequence of the typed URLs.
