The official Vine blog has further explanation of this concept: "Like Tweets, the brevity of videos on Vine (6 seconds or less) inspires creativity. Now that you can easily capture motion and sound, we look forward to seeing what you create." the company said in  their post."We’re working now to bring it to other platforms, so stay tuned for that," the company added.

The network has supported embedded YouTube videos since 2009, but for the first time, Twitter itself will host video content with Vine.

  1. Facebook has updated its policies for third-party application developers in a bid to explain why Twitter's new Vine video-sharing app is unable to access Facebook's friend-finder tool.

While the updated policies don't mention Vine by name, the biggest changes appear designed to explain why Facebook decided to block the app, a move that sparked a wave of criticism this week
